Alright I'm getting excited here. I've had my car dyno's on a Dynojet in 3rd gear and tuned with my SAFC.
Tomarrow(sun) I am going to go ahead and install my Stage 1 NA cam from RPW. Hopefully I get it all done so I can go get a new dyno on Monday.
Anyway here's my best PRE cam install numbers:
Tuned with SAFC
116HP
125LB/FT.
Let me tell you this really smoothed my power curve out though. There's more available power threw out the power band.
PRE SAFC tune.
111HP
and 119LB/FT.
Mods I have installed for those runs: Custom SRI, Catback exhaust 2.25, RRM test pipe, RRM ported IM and TB, 8MM plug wires, Ground wire set. SAFCII on tuned run. I have an RPW header also but there was no O2 bung welded on so I am not going to install it until I get that welded on.
Running on some cheap Yoko all season tires.
Next install:
Stage 1 Cam.
Guessing dyno numbers:
130HP
150LB/FT.
Wishful number's:
140HP
160LB/FT.
I'll post my PRE Dyno sheet's when I get home.
Marcus
Edit: all Dyno numbers are WHP.

Sweet! Good luck.
Make sure you reset the ECU (unplug the battery) after installing the cam!

I'm installing the cam myself. I just bought the shop manual from the dealership. Cost me 160 for a 3 book set. Had anything and everything you ever wanted to know in it.
Will do with the battery thanks for the advice.
The cam itself was about 460 I believe.

Sounds like fun. Exactly what I'm looking to do when I get the time and money. I have a Fiz lightweight cam gear. You going to use something like that...or keeping it stock??? Let us all know the results...increase in HP and LB/FT and the cost of the install if possible. Thanks.
Yourself...good.
Not sure if there was been a "How-to" on this yet, but could you post what your books said is recommended torque ft/lbs on the internals, valve cover, cam gear, etc. That would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sure I can do that, but I woun't be able to until I get home. So expect it later tonight. I'm not going to write a HOW-To though, If you can't figure it out on your own by using your resources then you should have it installed by a pro. There's a huge liability issue with cam installs.

I'm not sure if this is correct but make sure to use a lot of camshaft lubricant. A lot of times camshaft are being broken because of the first start when everything is dry.

^--i've also heard of that on HorsePowerTV on Speedvision.. soak the **** out of them. Don't want to break the engine.. if that cam shaft messes up it will pretty much bend and ruin every valve in ur engine. =(
Oh ya I have lot's of Engine assembly lube. I've installed cams before guys just not OHC.
Thanks for the tips though.

OOO I'm so excited. I can't wait to get this baby in and then install the header, that should also allow alittle more power from the cam and other mods.

If you followed my install thread, I dyno'd 119.4 last week on a mustang dyno running with an 11:1 A/F ratio which the guys said can be tuned to 13:1 for another 15-20 whp.
With good tuning I am sure you will get there.

Here's my Pre dyno Sheet. I had to crop the heck out of it so it would meet the size requirment.
