Warranty Violation

I dont wanna violate the warranty and void it.....so what can i do to my new lancer so this doesnt happen? I was thinking about the EVO body kit, greddy exhaust(They dont make one...have to custom fit a Honda one), and maybe some neon lights for it.....and fog lights....is there anything i can internally that wont violate the warranty?

as long as you're going with neon lights, get a neon beer sign from a dive bar. i'm pretty sure they don't void your warranty...

why not just buy a universal muffler and get piping custom bent to your car? Thats what I did and it worked great, and it cost less than alot of pre-bent exhaust systems (about 300 bux). I'm pretty sure any bolt on modifications will be fine as far as the warranty goes.

As far as adding all the mods on your car the only thing that will void your warranty is messing with your headers

Anyone know if borla makes a system for the Lancers? I would love one of their spitfire mufflers....

OZevo-so that means I can put an intake on and stuff?

Putting an intake on it might void the warranty since that makes it susceptible to hydro-lock if water gets in the intake.
Basically any mod to the engine might void the warranty. Just look in the warranty pamphlet that came with your car and go through all the regulations listed and see if you would be breaking one of them if you put in an intake.

****, my car came _with_ an RMR intake/exhaust already on it. I sure as hell hope they didn't sell me a car with my big 6 year/75,000 warranty already voided. Of course, I think then, I'd have grounds for litigation.

liquidlancer, calm down man... I can feel the rage

By law replacing a part only voids the warranty on that part unless the dealer proves it was caused the damage. So if you replace an exhaust and blow a gasket they can't say it was the exhaust beause they have nothing to do with each other. Of course dealers will still bs and you will be the on that has to get them to do it. RMR parts are sold through the dealer to prevent warranty issues. The best thing to do is find a dealer that is aftermarket friendly (hard to find) and won't give you crap for having a few small parts installed.

Try going to another dealer and see if they will take a look.
