Question RRM Piggyback ECU Does it Really Help

My question is when it's installed can you feel the difference and around what HP figure do you think it gives you; is it woth the $449? Maybe any dyno sheets? And second, how crucial is it to always run 91 octane when its installed? Thanks.

EDITED for grammar for my own sanity. -Blacksheepdj

Thank god you posted a poll for this topic.

Piggy is worth it if you can get a good deal on them (used). $450 is a big chunk of change and it's useless if you want to go Stage 0 or Stage 1 turbo, but the advantage is it's just install and forget about it. Plus you MUST run higher octane fuel with it because the piggy advances timing and you need the higher octane to prevent knock.

If you'd like to learn more about your car and get some experience tuning, going with a wideband O2 sensor (PLX, Zeitronix, AEM, Innovative) and a Greddy Emanage system is a better way to go. Sure what I suggested will run you around $700 total. The difference is a WBO2 and Emanage are universal and can be used on any import. That makes them easier to resell if you ever get rid of your car. It will also give you more flexibility as far as tuning for your future/current mods. The drawback is it isn't just install and go, you need to tweak them a lot to get the full benefits. Also, you don't need to run higher octane with this setup (unless you advance timing).
