for that to work i believe you will ned a wideband so you need to add another 300 or so onto that price

i havent really narrowed it down yet... i may go with what eboy got the zeitronix(more then likely)... very good price and can log... my main concern is that it log and that it is accurate. I was gonna get the PLX but it cant log w/o an xtra 100-200$. I feel the others are too expensive when you are getting the same thing. Ask andrew(hobie) about the aem i believe he has it.

I do have the AEM UEGO and the EMS. I'll be happy to field any questions that I'm capable of answering.

I dunno if I worded that correctly as I'm a wee bit out of it, but I think the principle's pretty clear.
Makes me go hmmm... as well. Seems redundant to me.

yes, but now the eM Ultimate does that in open loop when the ECU isn't in control. The same reason we even use these damned things in the first place: high throttle applications. So you dial in 11:1, 12.5:1, 13:1, whatever, and the eM Ult keeps it pretty darn close.

I like it just fine. I have the first run, but if I were to buy one now I'd get the guage style controller just so that I didn't have to either buy a gauge or monitor AFR solely through my laptop. So yes, I would and DO recommend the UEGO as a fast and accurate solution for wideband AFR monitoring. Considering I'm one of maybe 3 people with I know of who run the EMS on a Lancer it's pretty safe to say that most of my recommendations are for people without the EMS.

That makes far more sense than the first explanation.

I have an AEM UEGO with the gauge style and it matches the air pump style O2 gauge they have at the dyno shop I go to. So it seems pretty accurate to me. Also I know at the dyno shop I go to it costs $125 /hr for dyno tuning, so I think it is well worth the extra money for the wideband. Have any of you guys heard of problems with burning the ignition coils when you install the ignition harness on the e-manage? I guess the EVO guys have had some problems with that and I was wondering if we would have the same.

coil burn was "fixed" in firmware update 1.29 or 1.36 No one has said what the problem was, but no one is burning coils with the newest firmware, either.

I am looking to buy some kind of a piggyback to adjust the fuel maps and ignition timing (SAFC2 goes bye bye).

Regular Emanage with support tool and ignition harness should run close to $450.00
Why not just get the newest edition, Ultimate Emanage.

It comes with :

NEW FEATURES INCLUDE

  • USB Port - improved communications & better real-time data and monitoring
  • Toggle Switch - switch between maps
  • Serial port - monitor and data logging
  • Switch port - Data log & Ign. Cut activation
  • Option 1 & 2 - Connectors for sensors
  • Warning Setting
  • A/T Shift Compensation
  • Channel Change
  • Rev limiter cut
  • Acceleration injection Map
  • Individual cylinder fuel & ignition adjustment maps
  • Speed correction map
  • Coolant temperature correction map
  • Air intake temperature map
  • A/F target value map
  • Ignition adjustment map
  • Acceleration ignition map
  • Nissan Valve control map
  • Analog output map
  • Auxilary output map
  • Idle stabilization map
Additional Features
  • RPM signal recognition
  • Fouled plug feature
  • Data logging
  • Text file save feature
  • Knock monitor (future feature)
  • Ignition timing display (future feature)

$430.00

Which one will be the best for a Lancer?
Boeturbolancer said the first edition of the Emanage had many issues and problems that had to be fixed when it got realesed.

What do you think?

im in this same exact predicament. i have been told by 3 local shops that the new emanage will be harder to tune, simply because its new, so i dont know what to get. at the moment im leaning towards the safc-2, simply because its sooo easy to tune, but i now have wideband so anything could be tuned with time, im lost.

the new emanage is definatly best though, just maybe not for me or u.

i dont know too much about the emanage, except that there is more that you can tune than the safc. i have the safc2 and it is very easy to tune, and since you are wideband, it would be much easier to tune. i think you should just get whatever you want, personally i like the safc a lot, but im not too sure about the emanage because i never even considered it.
