Increasing Torque
Last time I checked, bolt ons are probably the best way of increasing both power and torque. This car doesn't need more torque, just about 20 more base HP to make a shade more interesting. Mmm...bore.
While the simple bolt on's do give you across the board results the only significant increases i've seen are in the turbo kits. If you want to get real serious about torque you'll have to get a stroker kit made. Don't know of any yet so you'd be the first. Cheap way bolt ons-1000 bucks gets you about 20 more hp and tq. Second turbo kit...4g's gets you 80hp and 70-90tq. Stroker kit w/pistons on a custom job look for around 3g's and a lot of time/patience. You could go for the NOS but reliability is gone with that. NOS BAD!
Yeap, I have too much HP over TQ now. My jump off the line from a dead stop (no tire screeching) is slower than before.. It's probably because I don't have enough backpressure. I pretty much have a straightpipe, so I was wondering..
Here's a question for you guys out there:
Will a more restrictive axle-back/exhaust canister be able to level out my HP/TQ level as opposed to my HP over TQ level?
By doing so, will I get more torque?
Thanks
