Question Changed: whats a possible swap for an 03 oz??

I have an a/t (tryin to switch to m/t wit eng swap) 2003 lancer oz....i cant get rid of it for awhile, but does ne1 kno if an evo8 with fwd tranny wud work (jus a thought more of last option)....or a second gen eclipse motor would work as well?....or ne other motors that wud work?

Thanks

if you have enough money, it will work, and that's a lot of money

as far as I know theres nothing that will swap right in with little trouble. Anything is possible, but no one has been successful with any attempted swap before, at least that I was aware of.

it would probably be more cost effective to just buy an EVO than to try to swap stuff out.

if you are going to swap in a 4g63, just make sure its a 6bolt.

For the amount of money it would take to make it work you would be MUCH better off just selling the Lancer and buying an eclipse.

An evo might be outside the realm of his wallet. A used GS-T or even GS-X should be very affordable however.

I say you go for it. It really shouldnt be that much on a FWD car. Plus NOBODY will ever suspect it so you will be a sleeper!

The 4G63 enigne should fit in. As for me I am planning on swaping it for the 2.4L 4g64 engine and adding the turbo onto that engine. Just an idea.

just to give u an idea

this was years back

my buddy bought a 95 civic, $2300

B18C 98 spec R, $5000 very nice motor, awesome condition, 15k miles on it, JDM
(this is with tranny and axles, ECU and all that good stuff

Swap Cost, $1000

now the civic and integra share almost the same frame, the mounts and shift linkage fit right on

so now you think you are done

the stock civic radiator is not good enough, fluidlyne radiator $700

now the civic tires kinda suck, 185 is not good enough, so the lancer wheels and tires with an evo motor = not good

so plan on wheels and tires probably

he had to upgrade the suspension do to heavier engine

another 700 for shocks and springs (ground control)

there is a lot of little things, like the JDM throttle cable is on the opposite side, luckily u can get a 90-93 US integra cable to solve that

but what im trying to say, its not worth it, especially with u not having an old car, its to new to do a swap and it wont raise its value

now his civic is a lot of fun to drive, and its a wolf in sheep's clothing, but honda swaps are easy

i wouldn't do it

I Concur! I would to, but I just don't want an Eclipse! I thought about the swap when I first started reaaly trying to do something with my car up in Michigan, but then there was the house and kid talk starting and then moving expenses! I would say don't do it unless you are balling like Bill Gates. Just get an sds or rrm kit if you are looking to go a little faster! Hope you figure it out and do whatever works for you!
