My real problem with the 4g69 swap is that there's no real benefit to it. By comparison it makes a 4g63 swap look smart. At least the 4g63 has tons of aftermarket parts and is known to be more or less bulletproof. The 4g69 makes significantly less power, has only a fraction of the aftermarket, and would probably take nearly as much time, money and effort to swap in. Why? Just why?

Just staying NA.... if it wasnt a difficlut (and pricey) swap, I would look into it as an ooption to stay NA. 165 hp with variable valve timing is a nice starting spot. You are right up there with most of the "performance" import sub-$25K cars out there now - the Civic Sis, GSRs, SE-Rs, tCs and would be ahead of most older cars, like older Hondas, and Nissans and Toyotas. I think it would be good starting poing NA, even thought of swapping it into my Mirage, but too much of a PITA plus the 'Rage's name is Turbo Madness .......

It's obviously a lot of personal bias there, but I don't see the point in swapping the 4g69 when it would probably save you a lot of headaches just to trade up. I have nothing against the 4g69 as an engine, but the problems and expenses that swapping an engine can create make me think it'd be smarter to simply buy the Ralliart and eat the trade-in losses.

That is true too, except that all my logic applies to a 2-door 2400ish lb car. I keep forgetting I am on the Lancer board and need to apply my logic to Lancers .......

You make perfect sense. Instead of swapping, it would be more feasible to just buy the RalliArt outright .

Not to scare you but the track is usually a little slicker than the street.

YOu might have to launch at 1k

I'll teach you a few tricks when we get there...

BOT
Can you imagine a 4G69 taking help from a SL-OZ lancer 4G94

Still couldn't you convert the lug pattern in one way or another?

Nope. You are 4x100, Ralliart is 5x114.5 ..... nothing you can do but change the entire hubs and everything.
