I don't think so, since it's facing the other way.

...then you could pick a more powerful engine.

The version of the 4g93T that would fit out cars is so rare that I'd personally congratulate anyone in the US who could track one down and swap it into his or her car. I spent months trying to find them in Asian and Australian area (and surrounding) parts shops and came up empty handed. If you can do better...props to you.

I assumed there are alot of mods. need to be done to make it fit right? Or is it almost direct swap.

i searched for it for ahiwle also, and nothing, but i agree, why not just try for the RA engine, rated at the same power, but boost the RA and thats a different monster

Well one of the problem of the RA swap is the brake and lug numbers, we have 4 and RA has 5. You'll have to swap the rears too or it woudn't look right.

why whould you change the brakes for an engine swap... and as far as the 93t... its not that it is a horribly difficult swap (the main thing would probably be wiring) as it should drop right in there as if you were gonna swap the 93 out of the last gen 1.8 mirages... the real problem with that motor is they were so few and far between.

Because RA has 5 wheel studs and base lancers has 4, unless base lancer axle will fit on RA tranny, but if not, you'll have to swap them, even the rears, or it woudn't look right.

i'm going by part #'s so here goes:

-get the 89-91 galant vr4 front brake disks. they're 4 bolt (4x114) and same dimensions as the RA.

-you're going to need new axles as the passenger side has an intermediate shaft(i think that's what it's called, i forget) on the axle to relieve torque steer. dunno if the driver's side axle could just be carried over from the 4g94.

-rear RA disks could just be redrilled to 4x114 to fit.

-bearings, knuckles, all the major suspension assembly are the same across all trims.

my bad i thought in one of the other threads... they decided that you wouldnt need to swap over the hub and brake setup

Here is the bottom line as I see it.

5th gen Mirages / 02+ Lancers: that engine won't fit without major fabrication. It would be the equivalent of swapping an Eclipse engine in our cars (recall the difficulty in doing that). Not a bad swap for a 4th gen Mirage but then again for that price, you can get a full 4G63T for the 4th gen.

The 5th gen Lancer GSRs are EXTREMELY rare. I did find a track on one of them, but logistically, it didnt make sense. You can find them sometimes in New Zealand, rarely in Australia and sometimes in Ireland. THe one I found was in the islands, but to import it up here really didnt make sense.

And last but not least, the 4G69 swap is not as easy as it seems. Sure the engines' orientations are the same, but has anyone actually seen a Ralliart engine up close? As you may have guessed I have, and it would not be a simple swap. For example, check out the throttle cable. For the 4G9x, the throttle cable goes around the front of the valve cover and attaches to the intake manfiold. On the 4G69, the throttle cable goes right where the power steering pump and cruise control module is of the 4G9x's. I see custom fabbing still, to swap these motors in a 4G9x.
