Keeping air damn

Has anyone been able to keep the stock air damn with the rrm intake and heat shield, kind of like the rmr does. If so I would like to do this, can anyone help

If you keep your eye on this thread, I will be posting my own personally built SRI, that will be a copy of the RMR intake. There are only four things to buy: MAS adapter, filter, sheet metal, high temperature paint (color of your choice). I'll be starting the experiment this weekend (or as soon as the filter arrives).

I've seen pics where people have kept the air dam in place while using the RRM intake. I mean, there's nothing at all keeping you from doing that. It's not like the air dam has to be removed when you remove the stock air box.

And like I said in your other thread , having that little bit of funnelling action from the stock air dam is a lot better than nothing. Think about it. Without it, you've got your filter sitting right next to the engine block, and it'd be tough for any cool air to get to the filter. Not saying that air dam will do much good, but at least it's something.
