Maybe we should cover the basics of engines before we take that huge step......

actually i think there is a mitsu engine sold in taiwan that has the 4g94 block and a dohc head, but i'm not sure and i'm not sure if the bore is the same, so if you put the head, timing belt and ecu on the us 4g94 you would have dohc.

It would be easier to get a DOHC head for the 4G94 from Europe.

I am only aware of the 4G93 (1.8) being offered overseas...I don't think the 4G94 (2.0) was offered anywhere but the US...I might be wrong.

Anyhow, you might want to check into the 4G93 head, while using 4G94 bottom end...do you research

i think a bit back "dude in a mirage" posted theoretical benefits of mixing a 4g94 head and block to a 4g93 crank. i think something about losing a little bit of stroke for a bit more rev. can't quite remember.

as for a dohc head, there were dohc 4g93 heads in the "virage" in taiwan as well as the dohc turbo 4g93 Lancer "non-evo" GSR. good luck mating those to a 4g94 block.

www.rpw.com.au mentions they are working on a 4g94 to DOHC MIVEC conversion. Lets hope its sooner rather than later

actually i think a 4g93 head would bolt right onto the 4g94, but i'm not sure, also i think the bore might be diffrent too, but maybe not. if it was if the 93 head is thick enough you could bore it out to the 94's bore, or maybe bore it out more and bore the block out a little too and then you would get a little more displacement, but you might make it too weak, i'm not sure how much extra metal there is in between the cylinders.

edit: also, the other thing you would have to check is if the clearance is the same on the two heads so you don't drop your compression way down or clip the valves, but that could be counteracted with diffrent pistons.

Just mill out the Dohc G93 cyl head a bit to match properly to the .5mm increase of bore from the G94.

Also, get a thicker head gasket. Why? The G93 is a tad shorter than the G94 cyl head. You need raise the elevation a bit to match proper height of the G94 intake mani.

That's great, but I can't see it happening. Can you ever see any stock G94 take the abuse of flinging rpms in the 8.5K range? The laws of phyics still apply here, except for the Prelude 2.2L . . . don't ask me since I don't know why. Honda magic of some sort.

yes on the virage in taiwan as being G93 Dohc. watch out for which gen motor of the G93T.
