All spark plug wires do is maintain a constant "better" spark longer than stockers. Over time, stockers tend to fade in performance where performance ones last longer and offer better heat resistance and better conductance. I can go all indepth and technical if you want, but spark plugs will provide some better performance than stock, albeit for most of our levels of mods, it wont do that much.
