Exhaust Question

I have a question for anyone who has a testpipe and the Greddy Muffler on their car. Is it louder than say a gutted cat and greddy muffler? i am debating on whether or not to replace my cat with a testpipe..and if there is difference in power or back pressure between the two combinations..any input or information appreciated..thanks.

O.K. I'll do it https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/search.php?

seriously bud, the brand of muffler isn't going to amount to a hill of beans. Testpipe=less backpressure=less torque. The highflow cat is good, its just from everything I read the testpipe really does'nt do much unless you are turboed.

yea I have the RPW header and downpipe, RRM cat, and greddy exhaust and it's a great combo... There really is not need to go catless right now at this point in the game...

Well from what I have read you'll sacrifice some low-end torque, but the top-end pulls a lot harder.

Also, testpipes>HFC, not by a big margin, but its there.

just my 2cents

It won't pull "a lot" harder, but it should have just a little bit more energy up top. Realistically until you go turbo a test pipe just isn't worth it. On an NA engine it's just more noise, more smell and yet another reason for a cop to pull you over for very little power, maybe 1-2 hp.

Yah it smells but the Greddy is actually a muffler (not a fart sound amplifier) so it's isn't that loud.

Yeah I guess not alot harder but its there.

and well... he already has a gutted cat so I think smell isn't his concern, and his greddy muffler is only loud in higher rpms(atleast with the gutted cat).
