the intercooler cools the air so you will not detonate... this plus more retarted timing would have saved this from happening

Damn, so you got the forged pistions now, right. Also I wonder if anyone has found a way to make room for the intercooler on the at's.

I think RRM said they can get it to fit on an auto it just takes some more doing. Custome Piping etc. they just dont sell it as a kit.

yeah, the piping for the IC is interfered with because the AT is much wider, though this can be solved by relocating the batter and bending the pipe so it fits around the wider tranny... i am suprised that the tranny can outlast the motor, hmm... gives me hope that the auto aint so weak after all.

There is another way i was going to try until my mom stopped me. But you can get a liquid to air intercooler for it. It acts like an intercooler. Here is a link maybe someone with AT will try it out. And I ordered the piston wayyyy before that happend and it just came in at the right time.

Blowing up pistons is not caused by oil. It's caused by extreme lean condition, because the A/F mixture isn't correct.

Thats why you always build up your internals when you want to boost your engine

How much bigger did you go with the forged pistons?

Tune your car correctly, If you want to maintain reliabilty. and an intercooler would help too. Sometimes you have to spend the extra money. If you don't have one you shouldn't exceed 6 psi with the stock pistons. The oil shouldn't make a difference

You can still torch them w/o proper tuning. By no means, it can escape the laws of physics and the dynamic of extreme lean condition.
