Consequences of running too much boost

This is what will happen to your pistons if you run too much boost on your turbo. Please do not add synthetic oil when you get a turbo kit this is what can also happen

all i do is run synthetic oil...i have no problems......also what boost was that at?

That sucks, NTran. Also curious how many PSI. Who claimed the oil was a factor? That seems rather silly to me.

damn...thats major suckage... yea what boost? and under what conditions did that happen? racing? normal driving?

8 psi and racing a supercharged mustang. Well Rob told me not to run synthetic and i guess i forgot

oh well i've been at 8 psi for over 6 months now and i don't have any problems with my pistons. i wonder why Rob would say not to run synthetic......

just curiosu, cause I am still learning, but what psi is considered normal? And why would the lack of an intercooler blow the pistons? I know that they seem to be a weak link in the motor.

The synthetic oil issue makes no sense to me at all. Seems synthetic would be better protection than dino oil.

6 to 7 psi is ideal.
