DIY interfooler?
intercooler?????lol
ok...dumb idea ...so i was thinking could u use an intercooler kinda like a cold air intake? like run piping to the intercooler then run a filter on the other end?i know ur thinkin y, but i was thinking it could cool the air goin thru kinda like a tru cold air intake, also i know what intercoolers are really for so dont flame me bc this is just a thought i was thinking of, thanks
They have these on the net for sale. few threads on here about it. I would dig em up but im to lazy. Its kinda lame. dont get any real accessive gains over a regular set-up and it makes people think its an actual intercooler. I would agree with you. dumb idea.
I would call that a ....... Interfooler

No, it'd be completely useless. First and foremost, the air coming in from the CAI wouldn't need to be cooled, it would already be as cold as it was going to get. Secondly, all the additional piping would make throttle response go straight down the drain.
and your point is? <- to the OP, cos it wasn't clear whether he was suggesting an idea or just babbling...
I'm not sure how well you understand the function of the ic, but most simplistically it works be allowing heat from one stream of air to passed on to another. For this to happen, in general, there needs to be a temperarture difference between the flow through in ic (going to the engine) and one going across it.
So it won't work (or rather not do anything useful) if both air flows are the same temp or very similar.
The thing with 'cold' air intakes is that they take air from somewhere that's not hot like in the engine bay from where more aftermarket intakes tend to take air from. Even if you do this then run it through an ic, it won't do much 'cos the temp difference isn't that much and the pressure drop in the ic will overcome whate little advantage you can get from it.
The best bet for an N/A engine is to just take air from a relatively cool and position and perhaps where you'd get some sort of positive pressure to help the flow.
In short, it will do more harm than good...

i have another idea for you:
...duct the air condition air thru a flex pipe and tee it just after the air filter (u dont need to filter it so u dont lose the air pressure and a/c air is filtered anyway)
Wael, fooling around..

You mean mess around with the high pressure A/C lines so it goes through a part of the intake piping?
Then it leaks and your car burns r134A and PAG oil
Or do you mean **** around with your air plenum and make a custom duct from it to the intake?
Still a bad idea.
You'd be sending hot air in the winter =P
If I got this all wrong, please explain lol
