I tend to take the stand that for every intake mod you do, you should do an equivalent exhaust side mod. If you upgrade the intake side too much, you're fuel economy (and thus engine efficiency) will go down the drain. At one point I was getting around 400-450 km to a tank, which is crap. Now I get 600 km to a tank without any power loss anywhere along the powerband. Unfortunately there is no universal "what part should I get" answer, it all depends on exactly where you want the power, how much you're willing to spend, what kind of driveability you want, etc.. If I was going to do it again, I would get the A2 stage 2 intake kit (I think this includes a bored intake manifold, cold air intake, fuel rail and FPR, not sure about TB), RRM bored TB (if the A2 doesn't come with it), RPW or some other long runner header, and a greddy exhaust system. Combine those with a port head (RRM or A2), camshaft (RPW) and a flash/piggyback ECU (Works for a flash, RRM piggyback for a piggyback) and you'd have a pretty fast car. Not turbo fast, but not bad either.

a longer intake doesnt create better torque than a shorter one The shorter the intake tube, the more torque. you really need to get a labeled picture of an engine with what everything is and what it all does. That will really help you out with this and the lancer engine is really easy to figure out and easy to work with. But yeah, in the end, to get any good amount of power, you will have to spend *** loads of money, hope you have plenty. a general rule of thumb is that torque comes from the intake side and hp comes from the exhaust side. Its not always that way but usually.

So much information in this thread. What percentage is true, I don't know. I saw a few things I disagreed with, but I'm not going to be a dick about it...

Simple answer - intake mods make torque. Intake, ported throttle body, ported intake manifold (get a 4G93 one, not a RRM one), and a piggyback. If you want to go extreme, start looking into porting the head or getting a custom camshaft made.

Don't get the ported IM from RRM, please. It's a waste. Get a ported 4G93 IM. Such a better investment.

super easily, look at www.***********.com. go to their lancer section and find the stage 2 intake manifold, it comes with some great stuff for a small price.

EDIT: My bad, you asked if they were easily installable...you might want to get some help on that. It's not too hard, but I'm sure it helps to know what a lot of things are and what they do. and the direct link is here. Good luck. I'd get all your stuff from here first. If they dont have it, then search elsewhere, but all of what they do have is good stuff and cheaper than others.

I know how u feel, so i bought a Rallart. If u don't car about AC cut the AC belt you will get mad torque from that.

Oh yea i knew there was something else, lol. Hey i live in South FL i don't drive wid AC especially with gas prices this high and power steering isn't much i've drivin a turbo tercel w/o power steering with no problem. As for the 2.4 it's a totally different set up but if you haave money it bolts up but need to change the motor mounts and rearrange a few things. But that would cost alot. You can get a turbo set up for $1500-$2000, jus be patient and get it piece by piece. There is a guy i met here wid the same OZ (mine was auto) and thats what he did. In the end i think after labor it was around $2500 the most and he's spankin Evo's left and right with stock internals, he has manual though so torque converter would be needed if you're stayin auto. It's a great engine despite it's slowness i miss my OZ but i didn't have the patience for it so thats why i went to the Ralliart.

Turbo Lancer's make great torque, THey are high compression and have lowend end power like a WRC motor. Very fun to drive with the right power band.
