A2 Designs 4G64 Engine Swap!!!

I just stumbled upon this, and i'm surprised no one has said anything about it yet (maybe i didn't search hard enough).

According to the website ***********.com ("Prench") on the boards is offering everything you need to do a 4g64 2.4 L engine swap. I know it has been done on lancers and mirages, and he has done one himself on a mirage. what i thought was interesting was that he is offering modified axles and a slew of other stuff that would make a swap difficult if one were to gather these on their own.

And if i'm not mistaken since he if offering the 2.4 ecu won't that take control of immobilizer issues?

It also said that the price will not be posted; you must inquire.

this should start opening up more options for the lancer...obviously, it's been done before but it is nice to see things in a nice little package for all those too lazy to research. i'm curious to see how many choose to go this route...i'm sticking with my g94 though

For sure, i wonder if this will be cost effective, easy, and beneficial. it would also be interesting to know how this motor holds boost and responds to bolt on NA etc.

isn't the 4g64 the 2.4 out of a 3g eclipse? hows the aftermarket for it?

4g64 bolt on's

4g64 turbo guide

yes, it's the 2.4 out of the spyder...don't get it confused for the 420a out of the RS and GS. there's a pretty wide variety of parts available for it as well.

I'm liking how similar the 4g64 is to the 4g63. shares rods, pistons available, and the turbo exhaust manifold from the g63 bolts right up! that may make a custom turbo set-up easier and perhaps yield some great gains.

there is A LOT of info out there on the 4g64 and the 4g63 along the lines of similarities, compatibility, etc. i even found a link to a kid's step-by-step journal of swapping a g63 DOHC head onto the g64 and all the "heads-up's", precautions, parts needed, etc.....i looked into this a lot about 2 months ago.....i almost bought a TSi.

Sounds like this would be a worthwhile swap if you are that serious about it.

since it is so similar to the 4g63 it could be an actual worthwhile swap for our cars. if the price isn't too bad i could possibly do this summer. i would love to do the swap, forged internals, and then just source evo turbo components for a super cheap, reliable turbo setup
