Getting 150 HP from the 4G94

I was wondering what mods I would need besides an intake (have), and exhaust (getting) would get me near 150 HP (~125 WHP). I'm not going for tons of power, and in an econo car, this kind of power would be sufficient for a relatively decent price and performance upgrade.

It could be done with bolt-ons and tuning I'm sure. 125whp isn't a huge number. It'll cost a lot more than it's worth.

Higher comp pistons, better flowing intake manifold, SRI or CAI (No it doesn't matter which), headers (No it doesn't matter which), down pipe (Might as well), 2.25 exhaust, fuel managment (Apexi Safc, or reflash ecu), Fuel rail, larger injectors = 1300 + 325 + 160 + 325 + 50 + 200 + 200 + 50 + 100 = Just go turbo... just playing but good luck.

I'm sure there are a few routes to take for this. You could turbo with a stock engine (more than 150 hp, not a bad thing). Get all the bolt-ons. Go with internals and fuel management and some bolt-ons. Just depends which way you want to go. Check prices and difficulty to do. Bolt-ons would be easiest for DIY, turbo might not even be THAT hard.

With A2 designs making port and polished heads, camshafts, and fuel management systems I think the price is pretty reasonable now.

I have to dissagree. I own a mirage with 4g94 engine. I put down 122whp with single bolt-ons and stage 1 cam. I put these numbers while burning oil (bad piston rings) and my ignition timing is way off since I'm using 4g93 ecu.

It's easy to say buy a turbo or buy a different car. See I like the fact that I can pull up to SI with slight mods and smoke it. I like the fact that people ask me what you got and I can say it SOHC BABY!!! It's just my opinion.

In January there will be more parts in my car and everything will be fixed. Than I'll post some real numbers.

Different dyno, I know, but I put down 93whp with bolt-ons (stock cam). So it's hard to make it sound like "just slap some parts on!" That doesn't work for everyone.

These are my mods:
4g94 egine and tranny
4g93 ecu (soon to be '97 ecu)
SRI with k&n
obx headers
2.25 full exhaust (no cats)
4g93 IM (ported)
60mm TB
FPR
Fuel rail ported
Head slightly ported and polished
RPW stage 1 cam
cam gear
RRM pulley

That could be it. I have few things sitting in my room waiting to be put in. And I really have to fix that oil leak. With the oil leak, 185s (14s), and lunching at 2800 (no traction what so ever), 15.6 is my 1/4 time. I need some 15s or 16s with 205 rubber and fix the leak and maybe I'll be at 15 flat. Will see.

Remove rear seats and everything from the trunk and you will be good.
