pistons & ecu

I own a mirage, but I have a 4g94 engine in it . Also alot of part too. I have seen few posts here about the pistons. I think that one lancer guy has 10.5:1 and running 91 octane. And there is a guy from PR running his mirage with 4g94. Does anybody know what compression he is using?

Also the PR guy said that he was using 4g93 ecu (that's what I'm using now) and than he said that he is running '99 eclipse turbo ecu. I know it plugs in but there's more to it.

My head is all done so time is for pistons. Plans to buy them within 2 weeks. Thanks for your help guys. NA style

I have 10:1 pistons. I got them from Buschur racing when they had a massive sale on all lancer parts, but you can still get them from Wiseco. Only advantage I can see that the 4G93 ECU has is that the redline is higher. Not too sure on how big of a gain this results in in terms of useable power. Alternatively you could get the 4G94 ECU reflashed by WORKS for a raised redline.

I know. I have 4g94 ecu and harness but then I would have to swap the harness. Pain in the ***. That's why I'm asking about the ecu too. I would love to get some kind of ecu reflash. I dyno my mirage and I got 122 whp with bad piston rings (burning oil). For tuning I only using S-AFCII. I also need Apexi ITC Super Ignition Timing Converter b/c my timing is way off. Thanks for input man.

What kind of gains did you get? Did you took it to the dyno? What you use to controll your ecu?

You can check out my profile for a dyno with Ross's High Compression Pistons, they are 10:5.1

What's up man. I have seen your profile before and thanks to you I know I can go with 10.5:1. You have very nice gains without any head work or injectors, nice. In one of the thread you posted that you are using 91 octane. See my question is if I can push my car little further with 11.0-1? It's a big risk but I could be using 93 octance.

11:1 should be doable on 93. Just be careful, watch/listen for knock, and get it tuned for maximum quality.

I have a mirage but my engine is 4g94. Would I be able to tune it with S-AFCII?

I'd go with something that can adjust timing like Greddy Emanage just in case you need to retard the timing. And I never said I could get away using 91 octane on 10:5.1, it was Boeturbolancer.

Ok. I was thinking of getting Apexi ITC to tune my ignition timing. Do you know if anybody used that?

Never heard or seen someone use that yet. What about something like an Emanage so you can tune timing, AF, and ignition?

I already have SAFCII. I'm asking about Apexi ITC Super Ignition Timing Converter.

Yeah, but you also asked about SAFC. I was replying to this post. \/
