car didn't come with a manual???

i just need to know exactly how many quarts of oil my 03 lancer es takes...

according to the manual:
Oil Pan: 3.7 qt
Oil Filter .32 qt

Total: 4.02 qt

no problem, I'm pretty new myself, but having a manual made this a question I could answer. In the future, for more involved questions, I'd recommend using the search feature, I've been finding some interesting topics that way.

well, like I said, for more involved questions, I'm sure it's been posted somewhere before, but I think a lot of people either:

1) Have an owners manual
2) Have checked the invoice from a service center oil change
3) asked someone who knew and the thread was eventually deleted

Personally, I considered posting the entire contents of the owners manual, but that seems a bit overboard.

are you doing an oil change?
if so remember to put some in the new filter before you put it in. When i dio it i put in 3 quarts and check the dip stick to see how much more it needs. but thats me. then i run the engine for a bit and check it again.

actually I think they'd just sue me, and that doesn't sound fun, so I guess we'll just have to wait for questions and crack the book open now and again.
