who has a greddy??

hey guys i've been searching the forums and web for stuff on magnaflow cat backs and greddy catbacks. I have a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer ES, and it's hard to find a greddy that'll fit this year. my main question is here...

Slight Bumper Modification Require for OZ models
Pipe 60-70 mm
04 models 2 inches longer

GReddy new EVO2 Evolution exhaust is now in full stainless steel!
The EVO2 cat-back exhaust system is a huge step forward. In addition to the GReddy straight-through technology, offset tip design and large piping diameters of the original EVO, the EVO2 is now offered in full stainless steel providing improved looks, durability and corrosion resistance while maintaining the best qualities of the original, such as fitment, sound and performance.

That is the caption shown at a website for the Greddy EVO2 Catback, does anyone know what it means by the "04 Models 2 inches longer" part??

have any of u put a greddy catback on a lancer (Year 2004+)? from wat i've heard on youtube, greddy has more of an import tuner sound while magnaflow is more muscle like. can u guys giv eme ur two cents on the subject? thanks ahead of time.

I would assume it means that on 04s, the exhaust is 2 inches longer. Do a search in the lancer forums, I know at least one 04 person has that exhaust.

I absolutely love my greddy. It matches my style. It has a nice pleasant sound that isn't loud and it is fully functional. The vice the evo2 has is that it will sometimes hit your stock bumper and melt it. I've had mine for about 3 years now and my stock bumper still looks good.

It depends what you want. I have a magnaflow and to me, I think it looks and sounds better than the greddy. I've heard the greddy on a lancer and it is a little louder (not crazy, just higher pitched) than the magnaflow. The greddy is also a big tip with a thin wall. The magnaflow tip is the same size but it comes out and wraps back toward the muffler making it look kind of like just a bolt on exhaust tip. What they mean about the catback is that it might not fit because of length differences, but I've seen a person with an 04 bolt on a buschur catback and it fit fine. I know the axelback part will bolt on fine. Ask RRM to see what they think about the 03 exhaust on an 04 fitment.
Heres my magnaflow on an 04:

LOL thanks. The struts came from RDD. Search him on here, he is still selling them and does whatever color you want. The tint is 20% in the rear, 30% in the front. And I love the way my magnaflow sounds. Its low and quiet during normal driving, but when I step on it, it gets louder but stay in a low tone. No high pitch whining here.

My buddy, phillman332, on here has a 2004 White Evo RS and a 2003 Lancer OZ for a beater. We recently installed the Greddy Evo Catback on his OZ and there is a fitment issue. The muffler tip rubs on the bumper terribly. The car has a reconstructed title, because it was wrecked when he bought it so this might contribute to fitment issues. Doesn't make sense to me that it would require modifying since it is made for the car, but with the OZ's it does indeed. I'll post pics a little later this week.

EDIT: he has an AEM CAI and the intake itself is louder than the exhaust. I'm not complaining because it sounds nice, but it's odd seeing such a large muffler but having such a low quiet exhaust tone. I remember there being a big resonater in it, but it still surprises me just how quiet it is. Anybody else notice this?

Yeah, the greddys are pretty quiet compared to how big and loud they look. But what do you think of the pitch? Is it a nice low tone, or kind of high and raspy?
