ROAD/RACE- 08 Lancer...Here we Come.
What's the final report? I could swear I've read from both you and Works that the exhaust doesn't really add power. I doubt this has been dyno tested, but does it add any gain whatsoever?

im person the car sounds extremely sweet, nice and deep, not ricey at all. we tried a few different mufflers to get the one that sounded the best and provided the best flow with just enough back pressure so the car created more hp.
the final production piece will differ from show time's in that it has a stainless magnaflow muffler that has alittle deeper tone than the protoype, it is full madrel bent and has a stainless tip versus a chrome tip.
we should have the production exhausts soon and i promise that u guys will be thrilled with it.

Man not sure. But nitro shouldnt be your first mod. And it will for dam sure void your warranty. The first thing you should look into is and exhuast or an intake to free up the motor a little bit. Not saying a little NO2 wouldnt be fun as hell. Not sure how the CVT is going to react to mods you might want to think about seeing what the CVT can withstand before dropping 70 HP juice on it. Just a thought

OK . I had my exhaust before my intake and it opened up the top end ton. I noticed more bottm end pic up when i installed the intake. Over all I dropped a full second 0-60 with both. I wanted to run it down the 1/4 mile at the Winged Warrior event two weeks ago but the track was running really slow. Dave bushurs car runs 9.7 1/4 mile and he was having trouble hitting the 10.0 mark. so I didnt. I can for sure say I picked up gains with just the exhaust. But you have to take in more air to put out more so with both mods I really gained alot. I would love to run a stock GTS just to see how bad I could beat them. HEHE Sheep the mod bug is going to get you! I dont care how much you say your not going to mod if you love cars and I know you do because your a moderator on a car forum you can only hold back for so long.

Not from us. We made 3 pprotypes before we got one with balanced power. I cannot speak for Works though. We never said that. Our Gymkhana car for Mitsu performed great because of our RRM exhaust, Showtime had exhaust only and swore it performed well.
Exhausts do work but need intakes to really shine, not flashes. I never in my 20+ years of racing heard that you need a flash or that exhausts don't make power. The point is, it is easy to improve on stock mufflers. The trick is getting the righ kind of power, not peak numbers.

Gotcha. Sorry for misquoting you. I know that Works claimed that they dynoed the car stock and then with the axleback removed and found no gains. But obviously RRM has done a good job of designing and tuning.
