New Engine Questions

Im planning on tuning my Lancer pretty soon, but the first step i want to take is purchasing an Engine. Anyone know any sites that sell Lancer engines that are worthy of a lot more boost than the standard engine for lancers?
I need a manual transmition and a engine that can handle more turbo than the small 1.6 liter thats already in there. I want to shift manually. The car is reaching 150k miles and sputtering worst than anything I have ever heard, but thats a different problem. I have an 02 Lancer es 1.6 Liter Automatic. enough info? BTW where do I find a Ralliart engine?

You can purchase Ralliart engine which will give u more power than existing engine; however, i dont see the point in doing so. You will spend so much money on the swap and who knows it might give u some problems in the future.

If i were you, i would do one of the following:

1) Keep the existing enging and turbo it.

2) Buy used ralliart and turbo it.

First decide what your goal is, do you want to make a race car that runs 18+ PSI of boost or do you just want a faster street car? The 4G94 is good for 18 PSI of boost if you get new pistons, rods and a good tune (among other things) and this will get you to 300 hp, which on a car like ours is insane.

Now that I have Overhauled this thread, lets get this all up to speed. You have a different engine than the US lancers. We have a 2.0L. So, search for a guy on here named Diavlo. He swapped his 1.6 for a ralliart engine. Or you could just swap for a US lancer 2.0, but that engine can't handle much more than 8-9 lbs of boost on stock internals, so if you make a swap, might as well go bigger. For an engine, you could use ebay, junkyards, you'd just have to search for them. For the transmission, it seems you would be having a shop do this swap correct? Just tell them you want a manual and they can get the parts. You'd need the transmission, ecu, manual lancer center console, shifter, clutch, etc. But it has been done, as well as a ralliart swap and a 4G64 swap.
Here is Diavlo's thread of a Ralliart swap: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ghlight=Diavlo

It's cool, I just hate when things get messy. I don't know the cost, and it would be hard to estimate because it all depends on what motor you get, where you get it from, and who installs it. I can say that the link in the 3rd post is from a guy who did the swap a while back and it only cost him like $2100 for the parts. But then he said labor shouldn't cost too much either. But he also already had a manual tranny, so you just might be able to get away with the whole thing only costing about $5000. All I can say is that if you aren't doing it yourself, look around at some shops and ask them what they might charge for an engine swap in a mitsu.
