Is there any special oil that we have to use for 5 speed tranny's? I would like to use Royal Purple.

 

Then use royal purple, just make sure to get the appropriate weight.

off the top of my head I think it is 75w90

 

I bought Synchromax. It is recommended for manual transmissions that specify automatic transmission fluid, multi-viscosity motor oil or straight grade motor oil.

So that's why I'm not sure if it's good. It has no numbers on it.

 

I would get something with numbers on it or that is known to worth like BG synchroshift or GM synchromesh.

 

2.7 or 2.2??????????
Trust me... you don't want to overfill that thing...

Quantity is 2.3 quarts. Don't do 2.7. Look for my posts if you want to know why

Royal Purple 75w90 is what I used. In proper quantity, it works great.
