stock lancer IS VERY SLOW

 

Speed is relative.

it's actually pretty sad how slow our car is. Esspecially saying it looks fast, esspecially the OZ's. my car is just a little faster than my fiancee's Ford Focus station wagon. and i got mods done to my car

 

Fellow es owner here, i feel your pain. my first car was a 98 escort zx2, but it wasn't fast by all means(plus it was auto ) then i got a lancer 5spd, and i thought it was ok on acceleration but nothing impressive. Then i realized the gas mileage that i got with it and squashed all my ideas about throwing a bunch of boltons and stuff to make it faster. So now, i just keep it as my get to car . It's a great car, i love it don't get me wrong, just not as bad *** like an evo or scooby or anything like that. just my .02

 

It's why I keep the Ralliart as my daily and enjoy the 26 - 28 mpg and have a toy car which should probably get like 4 miles to the gallon ....

 

haha. Lancers are slooooooww. I have friends with fast cars. 400whp plus rx7's, Z's. which makes my car feel even slower. Although I do not street race. So I just try to make my car more fun to drive period.

 

What about those civics there slow too. The base model Lancer (es) kind beat the base model civic. It just seems like they take better to aftermarket parts. The lancer comes with more HP & Torque. If we feel like our cars are slow they should feel the same. They have the SI and we have the evo. I love my lancer, it's slow but i beat alot of civics.

 

A slow car beating another slow car is not that impressive. It's like two turtles racing.

 

Or like watching paint dry.

 

or winning a medal in the special olympics. lol.

 

or stealing an online picture caption when talking about two slow cars racing on evom.

 

Or just for fun for beating the RICER civics that think they're fast. lol.
my 02 is STOCK, just an aftermarket muffler. thats it. ive beat ricer civics, and this one acura, forgot the name of it... iono, but it had a spoiler, and a nice muffler, but iono ... prolly riced out?
but lancers are just for fun to beat those wanna-be racers who dont really know ****, and never really see mitsubishi's driving around, so they think their car is better than ours...

 

Dont see you beating any Acura with that Lancer, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

I guess I cant be too hypocritical. I used to think my Mirage was fast stock, until I got destroyed by real fast cars.....

Time will show everyone what slow platforms the 4G9x USDM cars really are.

 

Yeah stock the lancer is a dog and I doubt just welding on a muffler is going to change that. Beating an older civic isn't something to boast about or even attempt.
