my 02 is STOCK, just an aftermarket muffler. thats it. ive beat ricer civics, and this one acura, forgot the name of it... iono, but it had a spoiler, and a nice muffler, but iono ... prolly riced out?
but lancers are just for fun to beat those wanna-be racers who dont really know ****, and never really see mitsubishi's driving around, so they think their car is better than ours...
best post ever.

Sadly I dont know if kungfugirl was exagerating or not, but seeing as how you said "give him some slack, he's new" ... then i guess she was exagerating...

A lancer with all bolt on's can be a decent car. In the past few days I have raced 4 cars from a dead stop. Full race, launching and everything.

2001-2002 F150 (probably stock)- Dead even off the line, only raced through 1 gear.

1998-1999 Prelude (Intake/header/Exhaust/5spd)- With 1 other person in my car I pulled 3-4 car lengths in a 0- roughly 60 race. He seemed to be shifting decent too.

Late 90's Integra non GSR (basic bolt on's). He had about 1/2 car length on me at about 50 MPH

Pontiac Grand Prix GTP with stock supercharger pulley and bolt on's. He pulled me by about 1 car length by 40MPH or so.

Overall, I am very impressed. There are definately much slower cars out there. I have beat a civic ricer before by 5-6 car lengths by the time we both shifted to 3rd gear. Lancer's can be fast... But yet there are still a whole lot that are faster.

I have all the bolt ons and I'm not satisfied, hell my brother in-law can beat me in his truck. Granted it is a turbo diesel, but really, it's used for hauling quads and such.

I know some turbo diesel's here in Louisville that can smoke Evo's, STi's, or anything along those lines. A guy here has bolt on's such as stacks, programmer, and intake etc. and runs low 7's in the 1/8th of a mile. Those turbo diesel's can book it.

His is stock save for a muffler. If that example doesn't work well, my sister's subaru (165 hp wagon) can keep up if not beat me.

No, I know it's not something to boast about, but it's just funny seeing these civics in bodykits, and the popcorn mufflers, pull up tryin to show off and then they get beat by a stock lancer, and their face is just lol

please dont compare evo's to si's. completely different world. and civics actually respond extremely well to mods, well i guess im used to seeing boosted hondas and ac's cause all me and my friends owned fast ones.

Get more experience with different cars. I love my manual 2003 lancer OZ, it is a nice smooth ride with good gas milage... I thought it was CRAZY FAST for the first few months that I had it.

Then after having it for a while, downshifting became kind of ... lame, I did not feel the same power anymore.

Then after a while, I accepted the fact that it was an econobox.

At first I was bumbed out, but now I still liked my car, I just simply liked it for a different reason.
