next time your at a stop light, and you see a minivan full of kids next to you, or an old lady driving a town car. floor it!
you will then realize how slow your car is, because they will not floor it, and still keep up with you.

It is just you. When i got my very first car i thought it was TEH ****. Then i rode in something with 175hp and that was super fast so i upgraded and got a 93 rx7 b/c that was UBER fast (and it really was quick), now ive ridden in several 700+whp cars and everything i own seems slower than ****. I could NOT own a car that was slower than mid 13's in the quartermile anymore, id drive myself crazy. The more you experience speed, the more you will realize your car is slow.

It's all about experience. If you're happy with the Lancer's speed, then good for you. Enjoy it!

I had a Lancer that I tried like Hell to make fast. Never got it below 17s in the 1/4.
I have a Subaru that I'm turboing to make faster. Should be fun, but nothing earth-shaking.
I have a '69 Camaro that I haven't added one single power modification to, and I never will. It's fast enough to be quite dangerous...

I'm pretty ok with how fast my Lancer is. Don't get me wrong, I know its slow but I know about slower cars and MUCH faster cars. In high school, seven years ago, I owned an 89 Dogde Aries. If you want your Lancer to feel faster, just go find an Aries and drive it. I've also driven one of my friend's 69 SS Camaro with a very expesnive and very temperamental 383 stoker in it made for drag racing. 700+ horse power is fun, but I don't want it. 2-3 miles to the gallon, got to put 110 octane fuel it just so it doesn't knock, and everytime we drove it we'd have to change the plugs. If you've ever changed the plugs on a small block chevy you know why that sucks.

Well if 7 years later, the owner of that 69 Camaro hasn't, Its about time to stop driving that car. Over 3 bucks a gallon down here, aint worth it to me to be able to drive from point a to point b a lil bit faster, and 85% of the people on the road just looking at a car like that have no idea of the power it produces so its not like your getting a good rep or even attention.
But after going from a 1200CC del sol to this, im pretty happy with it. Though I did have a bimmer before the current Lancer and well **** nothing compares to a BMW so no point on even trying to compare.

If everyone is telling you that their lancers are slow is because they mean it. I honestly don't think you have had fast cars because otherwise you wouldn't be saying that.

With all my respects to the lancers owners but the lancer is one of the slowest cars you can buy, I am not trying to be mean or disrespectful but that is my personal opinion. I mean, even a non turbo eclipse with a 2.0liter engine from the late 80(89'90) could blow the doors of a Lancer and we are talking about a much older engine design. Cmon, lets be real here bro!!

If you think a lancer is not slow from 50mph and up then all I can say is whatever floats your boat but if you ride in a Ralliart it would make you feel like your lancer is a turtle and if you ride on a Evo with a few bolts ons it would make you want to sell your car.

Del Sol did not have 1200cc, they were 1.5 and 1.6 liters.

I am sorry to interrupt thios post again but the more I think about your post the more it makes me want to respond. A lancer es was a Mitsubishi product from Mitsubishi motors to tell the public, hey, we can also build economy cars.

A Lancer es is far from even being consider sportier, the oz is a way of saying, look we can put some rear spoiler and some OZ rims and call it sportier but in reality lets not get twisted, the engine on the lancer es is designed for economy and not for performance and we must accept that.

Just like the 4G63 engine shines on performance it lacks on gas mileage. Again, I have nothing against anyone driving a lancer ES but C'mon, you are coming here telling me that your car feels fast from 50-100mph?

Deontae,

I also noticed that you are rolling on 18's and they are chrome. Don't be surprise if any lancer ES owner blows your doors on the hwy with the stockers 14"
