Oil Question...

is it okay if i switch my oil 10w30 to 5w-30 synthethic?

there is something with the lancer pumps that dont like synth. It only becomes a problem when your turboed. I run mobil 1 full synth but may switch back to dino oil.

Can anyone here with access to CAPS cross reference the Mirage and Lancer oil pumps, please? I think they are one and the same, and that is urban myth (ran synth at 28 psi, 20 psi, 15 psi and 12 psi with no oil pump failure on a 4G93), but I dont want to spread propoganda.

I dont have proof of this. Im only speaking about what ive read RRM say. They reccomend usage of dyno oil with their turbo set-ups for the reason I stated.

Yeah I read that too and I had an indepth discussion with many people wiser than I am on the mirage board and from the Tampa Bay DSM board and they said it didnt make sense.....

But before I cast it down, I'll wait for the evidence

yeah THE ROCK from RRM told me that if we go turbo on our lancer we may have to switch back to Dino Oil. prefered is 20w-50 i think....
