So far with my GTS with CVT im averaging 21-22MPG, thats highway and street... but i also drive hella crazy since this is my first car and i like down shifting and taking off whenever i get the chance. So considering im constantly well over 4krpm unless im in traffic or cruising a highway, id say that isnt too bad.

I've had my GTS for 2 weeks now, im at almost 700miles. first night i put 100 miles on it

Well i can't really say for my self cause my GTS has 0 miles on it but. (still on order)
i would like to say that its good to hear most of you see about 28 mpg or around that. My one question is tho doesn't a cars mpg gain after more mileage? If so i could easly see the car getting up to mid 30's

After trip:

34.7 highway (cruise set at 81), not yet sure on city. Just got back.

Does anyone know what effect higher octane has on our engines? good/bad in mpg? good/bad hp? etc.

Same as every other motor. It's a waste of money. The car was tuned for 87 octane. Don't think you can make it better by adding something the car isn't tuned for...

In short, sheep's right.

Too little octane and gas can ignite prematurely. Too much octane and you may not reach enough compression to ignite the fuel completely. The car is rated for 87, so use 87.

got just over 400 miles on my car and highway I get around 29 and city 26. On the highway if I stayed a little bellow 75 I get a little better mileage. I put 350 on it the first night coming back through two states where I had to pick it up from the dealer.

It just keeps getting better. Mix of city and highway (mainly city) I'm averaging 33.9. DIC says each tank is 540 miles!

you must drive hella slow/accelerate like an old person it saddens me that i have such a lead foot. i try to go slow, but i end up gunning it when i get behind really really slow people and waste gas. so far every tank ive done (all city driving) has only been 23mpg tops, im waiting for my trip to tampa to see what kinda milage i really get with it.

I lean on it often enough. But yeah, usually I do my best to keep the foot off the floor - $70 a week in gas is enough as it is.

But dudes. I was taking mountain passes the majority of my drive back home, and still the car got absolutely awesome fuel economy. And (if you have the nav system) watching your fuel economy/altitude in real time is complete awesome. I've noticed that while cruising at a set speed, if I turn on my A/C my fuel economy doesn't budge. How freakin' awesome.

Awesome
