The "EvoM Official 2008 Lancer MPG" Thread
IIRC it's in the info area. Trip setting, or something like that? It's around the middle of the main menu when you hit the info button.
There are tons of nifty features in that system. You can track how many satellites are relaying your position, there's a digital records book for oil changes and such, altimeter, barometer, graphs that show you your altitude and fuel economy over a given period of time, etc etc etc. The graph showed I held 141 mpg for about 6 minutes one time, heading down from the summit.
I didn't even know they existed until my friend started poking around in the settings last weekend.

421 miles to the tank before refilling. It only refueled to 14.1 gallons so I had almost 1.5 gallons still left after 421 miles.
By far my best tank yet.

man i dont get anything like the mpg you guys are getting. i have to refill like after 220-250 miles when the light comes on, so thats only like 20 mpg, but im 1 mile from work, and like 3 miles from school so its all city miles, hardly ever any highway miles though... but i also hardly drive anywhere, and only have 1300 miles after 3+ months. the dealer called me a few weeks ago asking when i wanted to set up my oil change, and asked how many miles i had, and told her just over 1000, and she laughed and said i wasnt even close to getting it done, and told me to call back in a few months when its closer, so it may be like 6 months before it needs done, but i wont wait that long.
It was mixed.
I made some highway trips when traffic wasn't bad that would account for at least 160 miles. The MPG meter was reading 35+ mpg on the highway trips.
But I also commuted to work everyday on a busy 4-lane, 35mph stop-and-go, intersection after intersection street, 16 miles roundtrip. I shifted in the low 2000 rpm's, trying to accelerate smoothly, coasting when I could, basically driving like a grandma through the city.
I posted my results to give people an idea of what they could get if they drive economically.

Do you guys know the MIVEC changeover point yet? That's the trick to MIVEC engines. To get the best MPG, cruise with the RPMs just below where MIVEC engages. On Ralliarts, there's a 5-6 MPG different between cruising at 3400 rpm (73ish MPH) and 3500 rpm (76ish MPH). I certainly believe the 35mpg claim, based on his speed.
I've had the car since July 13. Since then I've done one 600-mile-round-trip trip from Maryland to North Carolina, nearly all highway, and I got 33 MPG. My routine driving isn't quite bumper-to-bumper city traffic, but it would probably be considered closer to city than to highway. I'm consistently getting 27 +/- 1 MPG over that routine driving.
I Get 11.0 L/ 100 km thats roughly 21mpg but thats all in city driving where im in a rush to beat traffic..lol...
80% highway and 20% city this thing is awsome i get about 8.0L/100 km is about 30 mpg
My car only had 2,700 km.. havent got the chance to drive it as much as i like..

wow there's some discrepancy in mileages here. I see people with excellent mileage and a couple with bad ones. I'm getting 21.9 right now with about 60-70% HWY and the rest street driving with under 1000 miles on it. I think I'll wait till after a couple of thousand miles and if it doesn't improve, I'll be taking here to the dealer and see what they say. Car's not driven hard at all either(wife drive's the damn thing more than I do).
i get between 28-31 around town with the 5spd, but fifth gear on the highway gets me 26-28... thats at 70-74 mph... i dont understand everyone getting over 30 on the hwy... what rpms is everybody cruisin' at? are your highways 55mph to 65mph? i have about 3800 miles on my car and roughly 300 of them have been on the highway, could the computer be so use to cruisin around town that it needs to learn how to get good gas mileage on the hwy with the cruise on?
i give up
