I've always wondered about this cat-back. Mangaflow says on their website it gives about 10 hp and 10 tq. That'd be all right with me, but the only thing people really say about it is that its quite. Not that quite is bad or anything.

mine sounds awesome, i dont know if it really did anything power wise though. i did the catback, k&n sri, pulley, and all my suspension at the same time so over all it felt better, but i cant say for sure it was from the exhaust.

I did the Magnaflow exhaust too (and installed it by itself). I noticed a very slight gain... maybe 1 hp/tq in addition to a really ****ty sounding muffler. Wouldn't recommend it.

have you tried other mufflers on your car?? this sounds better than 90% of them. and is the only thing that was able to quiet down my straight through setup.

what would you recomend then, because IMO, this is the best sounding one out there, unless you WANT to be labeled rice...

I don't really know. I've had people tell me my car sounds really ricey with the magnaflow setup so... I would consider the Apex-i N1 with the super silencer. Hopefully if I ever go turbo then that will help quiet it down some.
This is just my opinion but if I were to do it again I would keep stock exhaust until I was boosted and then do that at the same time.

i hate scilencers...HATE them, what is the point of getting 2.25in piping and a 3in tip if you dont want it to be loud...totally defeats the purpose, and honestly, you dont even hear the magnaflow unless you open it up...and then it roars, as compared to whine...

whine=rice
roar/growl=good exhaust

IMO

Alright well the Magnaflow growls. So then I'll agree that for the NA lancer it is a good one to get. I would prefer something like a Borla hush for it but thats only for WRX's.

I have a magnaflow catback from RRM. Im very pleased with the way it sounds. You dont even hear it at idle and even at red line it has a fairly low tone to it. I get a lot of compliments on the sound from it.

Things I have noticed so far:

went for a little test drive and I just got back, this is what i found:

1. FIRST AND FOREMOST, ABSOLUTLY BEAUTIFUL SOUND...weather you are ideling at 700rpm or opening her up at 5500, she will sound terrific either way. +10 simply for the sound.

2.Significant gain in up upper portion of my power curve, anything past 3500 and it just begs you to hit the throttle.

3.Going along with #1, a small loss in the lower portion of the power curve (this should be common knowledge) it will take you a little longer to get up, but once you get rolling, you golden.

3. Seems to lag coming down at the 3000rpm mark (aka, if you gun it up to 6000 and stay in the same gear, and just let the RPMs drop, the needle seems to freefall the whole way until about 3k, then slowly decends from there)

^^I dont know if that effects anything at all, but it was just something i noticed.

Thats all I have for now, will get more once i get more time, hope it helps.
