exhuast question

exhuast question

just wondering since im running straight pipes right now. would it be wise to buy an aftermarket resonator and have that installed. if it is does anybody now where i can get one and which ones are good to get

also another quesiton is there a difference in how the evos exhaust system is different from the oz's. will i be able to use an evo 8 apexi exahust on my oz. will there be any fitment issues.

yeah the diameter needs to be larger for the evo's because of the turbo

Huge piping disparity, flange difference and the fact positioning will be very different. Lancer is off to the side while Evo is more centered down the driveline.

All a resonator does is deaden sound. If you think your car is too loud then go for it. Otherwise, you're just spending extra money.

Another option to look at is a highflow cat in place of your testpipe. I would imagine it won't be as restrictive as a resonator would be.

Ive just install a rrm exaust and a rrm test pipes , and i take of the resonator and it sound very loud , if i buy headers does i lose power beacause i will be stait pipe ? (sorry off-topic)

i think a test pipe is just the air moving free threw it, and the high flow cat still restricts some air but not naerly as much as the regular cat.

i mean, i am not 100% sure but that would only make the most sense.

A testpipe is simply straight piping, nothing to it. A highflow cat on the other hand has baffles on the sides of the piping and filtering material. So it doesn't restrict airflow by bouncing around the exhaust gasses like resonators tend to do, but they still help the sound level a bit since there's some filtration going on.
