Interesting info regarding cat removal / test pipe install
Test pipe replaces second cat. No check engine light and increases flow a lot.

wat do you wanna know about installation?
its 4 bolts and a o2 sensor
if your doin it in your drive way and only have the car jacked up and you have tyrouble gettin the o2 out before you go stripping a 60 peice of equipment go in the car remove the center console the one wiht the shifter on it then peal back the carpet on the passenger side and find the half black half white plug and unplug it
then from under the car pull the rubber boot out and youll be able to drop the cat with the os still atached makes it much easier to get it out when you can get ahold of it and put some force down on it
anything else you need to know?

Ok, I need tips on driving around in Cali.
I will soon be moving to San Jose, and of course the Lancer is coming with me.
Now, I got a kamikaze header, RRM Test Pipe and RRM Exhaust so the car is loud as hell and there is no chance in hell that it would pass an emissions test.
Should I keep my Massachusetts Plates!
Is it true that you get pulled over for having a loud car?
I haven't had any issues yet, here in Boston!

Haha
You Cali people have it rough. I'm a police officer in Alabama. I have an RRM "test pipe" on my car right now. We never look for such stuff around here. If the pipe is too loud, some of the *******s in my profession may write a ticket, but that is it. No impounds, not smog tests, nothing. Maybe you should all just move????? Anyways, best of luck to you all. Oh yeah, the dime bag is still illegal here. Don't smoke it in the car and 99/100 times, you should be OK.
Install problem
Got my stuff from RRM the other day. At 1am after about 10 hrs of helping my friend virtually rebuild his entire car ('91 Civic HB), I got to put my car in the garage and start what I thought would be a 1hour removal/install of my exhaust and test pipe.
Exhaust went on fine, moved on to removing the stock cat. Those bolts DID NOT MOVE AT ALL!! Tried EVERYTHING. Tried silicone spray, tried banging the bolt loose with a big pipe sleeved over the wrench, tried using the force...NOTHING. ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEAS???!!!!

Site did say CEL but it has never happended to anyone. We originally put that because it happended to us on a Lancer Mitsubishi gave us. IT was a predroduction car and had 02 sensor in a different place. All of your cars have it before cat therefore NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. Site was updated to reflect that months ago!

Yeah, it would be no problem at all if I had the right tools, but I don't...nothin but sockets and wrenches. I don't really feel like spending the $$$ to take it to a garage because all I would be paying for basically are the tools. Any other ideas?
