Another N2O thread
I've looked around and all the threads I've looked at some people say 75 shot is ok and other say 25 shot max. SO Im just wondering who has actually used N2O on a stock engine and how much you sprayed. My 02 OZ is at 91k miles now so I'd feel like Im risking it too much running stock internals but from what I've read some upgraded rods and higher comp pistons will do the trick. Any advise?

don't take the risk on running nos on stock internals, you will most likely kill your engine. there several people who have run n2o and blown their engines, one of them was only a couple of months ago.
take the money and buy a turbo kit, there a couple for sale on here around the same price you would spend on pistons and rods.

I dont wanna turn this thread into a fight about turbo over N2O. running a 25-50 shot of N2O,wet shot cause its worth the extra $$$, vs. running 8-10 psi boost...they seem equally as dangerous on a stock motor. One reason Im leaning twords nitrous is I can turn it off and not worry about my motor in daily driving, and flip her on for that extra umph. turbo is allways there pushing on those stock internals. I'll do a little more research on how much boost it can handle stock and hp numbers I'll get out of that and report back.
Also NO2 screws up your a/f ratio when you are using it. Since there is oxygen in the nitrous itself you will run super lean while spraying. Thats not good for your motor at all.

I see where your coming from dude, Im just trying to see if the reason people blew up their motor was because they really didnt do it right or if the internals are just that weak. To me I dont see how 50 shot nitrous done right could be worse than going an equal amount of hp in f/i.
i think you should do ahead and run nos. And make sure to detail exactly what you do.
So that way when your motor blows we can take this thread and show it to other noobs who think that they won't hurt their engine when they run nitrous.

I can see where everyone is comming from and N2O is viewed as ricey. I just dont understand people saying turbo is going to be better when it puts more stress on a motor than nitrous. Any who, this isnt something I have desided on yet and Im not doing anything for another year Im just gathering information. I wil agree that turbo has more potential than nitrous in the long run though.
technically YES you can run a shot of nitrous safely on our motor. BUT you have to have a tune for when you aren't spraying and a tune for when you are. Upgraded fuel components, upgraded pistons and rods etc. You could probably run I am guessing a 100 shot at that point. BUT by the time you buy all of that stuff and keep refilling your nitrous bottle you could have had a turbo that is giving you that extra power constantly. There is the potential of if you are spraying enough without a tune to run in the 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's etc. concerning air/fuel ratio's. The heat that produces would melt the pistons to the block of the engine. N\
