4g64 is the new eclipse engine. Evo is 4g63. Only thing close to that being non turbo is the 2g eclipse. Anyone correct me if I am wrong. You'd have to search the net for the stats on that engine.

Chrysler's 420A. Think Neon.

And for the record, non-turbo the 4g63 would be pretty pitiful as far as power output. (Assuming you mean removing a pre existing turbo) The low CR is not conducive to making power without boost. The NA 4g63's from the 1g Eclipses however have decent power outputs, but nothing spectacular. Something like 135-140hp.

I just bought a 2003 Mitsu Outlander w/ the 4g64 and its rated at 150 hp. The non turbo eclipse comes w/ the 420A. I forget what it's rated at. But the Outlander, Galant and the Eclipse all come w/ the 4G64. Except for the V6 Eclipse and Galant. It's a peppy lil engine if you ask me. Yo Andrew Whats up? Hows the car runnin?

1g Eclipse with N/A 4g63 put down about 130 horsies, if my memory serves me.

It was a quick little car, I kinda miss my old one.

There are no 4g64T that ever rolled off the Mitsu assembly line, only if the 2g spyder had their cyl head swap w/ TC stuff.

If you're talking about stripping the turbo off 4g63T, you'll get a pitful engine in NA format because of the CR.

The base model Outlander has a detuned 4g64 rating around 140 HP while the 3g eclipse hits somewhere in the mid 150's flywheel.

If you're talking about the rare 1g 4g63 NA, it pumps somewhere in the low 150's. Mitsu changed a few stuff for NA application.

Though never mass-produced for the assembly line, produced a few RalliArt works prototype 4G64T for the Dakar rally.

Remember in JPN, the market caters to niche market. Heck, the FTO had once 8-10 flavors to choose one of its version. Can't do that in America. Mitsu will lose tons of money.

Besides, with Mercedes on board, Mitsu has streamlined some of their car in JPN for profitability. That's why FTO died in 00 and certain performance MIVEC, in favor for MIVEC MD gen 3 (garbage engine).

A NT 4G63 will make 135hp at the crank and about 115hp at the wheels (FWD) (SHUT UP I STILL DRIVE ONE EVERYDAY!!!), I'm assuming less with a 4WD drivetrain.

To be honest, I think the Outlander should have been packaged with something a little nicer than the 3g Eclipse 4-cyl. That thing isn't very light, and it's safe to call it a slug.

Just remember. Evo is 4g63T. 1G Eclipse is 4g63. Lancer is 4g94 and Outlander and 4-cyl 3g Eclipse is 4g64.

The outlander recently had a top line model that sports a massive 3.8L . . . seen it at the dealership when I last compared mitsu parts.

"(SHUT UP I STILL DRIVE ONE EVERYDAY!!!)"

No one is mad at you. You have a rare car. Most has the 1.8L, 4g37 . . . Otherwise, just highjack a 2g spyder's engine w/ a 2.4L . . . you'll should be happy. Again, the spyders are rare too.
