Yeah with the price of iridium plugs now you might as well do it, at the very least it'll make you feel better about the car. I hope mitsubishi changed the setup on the new lancer.

NGK V-power (copper plugs) > NGK Iridium Plugs in EVERY way except they don't last as long. Also at $1.50 a pop they are MUCH cheaper

yeah. I was looking for the copper but no store around me carries them and that site I ordered from did not carry them so I basically got lazy and just ordered the Iridiums.

ahhh!! i bought magstar *racing wires lol* and it was $60 O.o. Dont ask why i got racing i just thought it would be better to get the expensive crap lol.

1 coil per 2 plugs is a very common coil arrangement on 4 cylinders, both cars and motorcycles. This has been used on the 4G63 for a long time. That doesn't cause the coils to die prematurely. What is more likely killing coils early is having the coil mounted directly on the engine, and not having enough heatsinking to cool the coil down. Having the ignition transistor in the same package as the coil will add some heat as well, and probably isn't helping for life either.
