Sad, but probably true. It's been 9 days and no slips posted. 08LanceRage just made the first post, a couple "yeah!" posts, and that's all...

It doesn't add power, it simply lets the engine rev easier.

Nick is correct. The pulley will not change the HP of the car at all. It will just let the crank spin a bit faster (because there's less weight on it).

Actually I held out for a long time on this one. I was ready to drop a dozen faces when I read the first post.

It won't necesarily add power, but it will reduce the losses becuase it will have less inertial forces working against it.

Yeah, but I think you'd agree that you're not going to see a significant change on the dyno.

I'm guessing that aerodynamics won't play a significant role until speeds above 75 MPH. Not an issue for a 1/4-mile drag race (except for the bit of weight the body kit adds), but it would come into play on any decent track. The drag of the body kit would then be a disadvantage for the GTS. However, if the body kit does anything in the way of reducing lift, that would help the GTS.

Does anyone have any clue if the GTS body kit actually serves any real aerodynamic function? Was it wind-tunnel tested to reduce lift? Or do you figure it is purely cosmetic?

I like the story of the original Audi TT. Apparently a number of serious accidents occurred where cars driven at high speeds got light on the rear end and wiped out. The TT has a profile that looks a lot like that of a wing. Audi then did a recall and tacked spoilers onto the rear end.

I'm guessing it's purely cosmetic, mitsubishi didn't build the lancer for racing, they made it to be a fairly quick and fun daily driver.
