Is it true that if you have battery light on and if you unplug the connector from the alterantor, the battery light should go out and that would mean that the alternator is fine. If the light stay on the alternator is bad.

What do you think about that?

i don't know for sure, but when thinking about it... if the light is on, that indicates that the battery is low (less than 12v), so unplugging the connector from the alternator shouldn't effect the light at all because the light kicked on in the first place because the battery was less than 12v. the alternator just recharges the battery after 'juice' is used in the battery...

My bad. You are right. It's other way around. If the battery light would be go off then that mean that alt is bad.
