RRM Camshaft Review *FINALLY*

Well I finally got around to getting the RRM cam installed, i've been busy with school and work. But it's in and its sick!

First off, I myself did not install it, but while they were down there i went on ahead and replaced my timing belt and my water pump.I just got it back yesterday afternoon, and i put it to the test.

Mods: intake, header, exhaust, bored fuel rail, ported intake manifold, rrm piggyback, rrm pulley, sparkplug wires, testpipe, and now the cam.

i noticed a big difference. first gear at higher rpms(after 4500) really screamed. and 2nd and 3rd gear pull alot harder as well as smoother. Will record a 0 - 80 soon..

Idle abit rough but not as bad as expected, although, its only been a day.

Overall, i think this upgrade is one of the best things. But if ur willing to spend $400 though.

More to come.

Any dyno numbers to back up the supposed increase? If there's one thing I've learnt it's not to trust the butt dyno.

my butt dyno is very dependable. And it tells me lancers are slow

Good to finally see a review.

I'd even take a stopwatch 0-60 or 1/4 mile just for a rough idea.

agreed, ive never seen any hard numbers on any rrm product, only WOW HUGE DIFFERENCE! To tell the truth i think the real numbers would prove to be dishearting and make us question the gain/cost.

I cant really afford an engine swap or turbo kit, i think ill just stop spending money on my car (yeah right..) and buy the new RA lancer in a few years. 175hp is a much better starting platform.

Yeah I don't think the numbers have been verified yet, hell we don't even know how much power the evo will have.

It never matters. All we know about the new RA is rumors, but I see 87,000,000 different things posted everyday as if they are Gospel...
