I love placebo mods, if it makes you feel like the car is faster it's just as good as the car actually being faster.

YOu felt the car was faster, so you probably gunned it more and hency your mpg went down.

This really couldnt give you a "feelable" improvement.

It's like losing 5 lbs, you won't notice it.

you all might think im weird but...ive always thought my car does better under mods than other lancers.....(i dont know y) for example
one friend-has rrm header, rrm pulley, full cat back ,cold air intake...and couldnt beat me(auto)
another friend has a oz stock 15's,RRM pulley, full cat back,AEM sri, OBX header/down pipe (lost him, haha)
BTW my car's only performance mod is a High flow cone filter...
and i ran 17.3@ 79 mph with realy bad plugs , wires , and tires(no traction most of 1 st) (and my car is AUTO)

Ill second that.

But im sure some cars are better than others when they are put together. Ive noticed in the past with my 240sx's that some are a lot faster than my first one was, but then i grabbed a second 240 ,same year and model, and it was waay faster stcok than my other one that had full catback, headers, plugs, wires and even a short shifter for faster shift haha

that's why sometimes i wonder if my car is one of the "bad" ones they made.

I doubt it's a massive difference, ie. enough that one car would simply walk away from the other. As an example, it's normal for STIs to show a range of dyno numbers but they're not so different than you'd notice it in a real world situation.

i have found no major increases maybe a ittle when it is cold out...but the IM is still bolted to the hot engine block so it will be getting warm no matter what unless you get a special gasket or spacer that deflects heat from the engine to the IM.... you would notice something then..
