~+~ Dyno Testing and the Machine
in the coming days or weeks, depending on weather and how depressing the holiday gift shopping gets I will be heading down to the track for testing as well as getting some dyno work on the 3 project cars I am putting together.
I have 2 options, one is a top of the line AWD dynojet and the other is a standard 248C. of course the cost differences are there, but I am curious to see what everyone else has been using for their dyno pulls. The top of the line AWD is frequently used by local EVO owners so I am making the assumption that the machine is more calibrated to produce compatible 2WD results.
(Forgive me AWD dynos are new to me)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The first dyno testing objective will be a 3 way heads up with
1. BONE STOCK GTS
2. EVOSOUL MK2 Dual Exhaust + Custom (M-SRI)
Vs. Volenteer GTS with a Single Exhaust upgrade of either the RRM bolt on kind which is the only commercially availible exhaust upgrade that exsists or we can use similar custom exhaust *provided by a volenteer.
* Both modded cars will have a SRI, and will be tested with both an SRI and without.
* The stock car will be tested with a SRI and without.
* The dyno process will be recorded
* The cars should be of the GTS CVT type but if i cant find a volenteer with a CVT I will go the 5sp route.
5 speed gear ratios
1 3.538
2 1.913
3 1.333
4 1.028
5 0.820
Final Drive
4.235
CVT Sportronic Ratios
1 2.349
2 1.397
3 1.074
4 0.832
5 0.631
6 0.518
Final Drive
6.120
The gear match up with a CVT vs a 5speed isnt perfect but comes close enough, anyone else care to way in on that?
Target date for this will be just before xmas but i will keep everyone in the loop with some updates. LOCAL TORONTO AREA DYNO PROJECT
Cheers
lol yes sir haha you just hungry arnt you, well i forgot to mention that it was Blacksheepdj that drilled it in about dynoing in the correct gear. I couldnt remember who was talking about it on the forum until I finally found the post.
But it will not be an issue, if I cant find a RRM exhaust I am going to give it a go with hydro. heheanyways, yes i will hurry I know how much you hate waiting for pics and data lol
More info on the AWD dyno is that its a "Possum Bourne Signature Series Dyno" apparently the only one in north america. I have heard a thing or two but surely at this stage of the game with light weight mods its not going to be relavent, but later on with the boost project. It will come in handy for head to heads against the EVOX
