L4 may represent inline 4 cyl.

I am just glad it was finally released. It seems to take forever to get stuff out these days.

L4 is your engine. I don't know what the heck the L stands for, but it's normal.

Can't decide for you, but my thoughts:
Injen - cool design, should be decent.
Fujita - nice SRI, but still an SRI (CAI is usually better).
Weapon-R - I will never buy another one of their products ever again. Got burned by a serious PIECE OF S*** intake on my last car. Parts should fit when you buy them BRAND NEW. Grrrrr.

this isnt a RRM forum here but I would expect them to become more competitive with their pricing when all the new options come out. plus they are releasing a new version of their intake. its always better to wait. plus its winter. just before Feb is a good time to start buying for the upcoming spring.

How much is that injen CAI selling for these days anyway? Last price I saw put it at nearly double of the Injen SRI. And given the conditions I live in here, probably the latter would be a lot better for me. So you have to consider what option would suit you best.

if you live in a super cold place, go for the CAI, engine compartment temps right next to your engine will still yield hot air especially being so close to the flank of the engine. a CAI will be so frigging cold in the winter ICE will form on the metal near the filter.

Super cold dense air is what you want.

That's true, but our roads up here are REALLY wet and sloppy right now, so a CAI might also suck up a lot of water. We also have sand on our streets instead of salt, so there is also the issue of road grit clogging the filter. For an Edmontonian, I say go for the SRI - I wouldn't want to destroy a brand new CAI up here.

I'd suggest doing what I do (go stock for the Winter), but since the CAI install seems pretty involved, I'll shut up.

personally ive had bad experiences with CAI's due to water so this time im around im went with the SRI (fujita) i think it all boils down to personal preference.

lol its called clean your filter if 20,000 km hehehe

I have run a CAI on all my cars, and it boggles my mind how someone gets hydro lock. unless you are driving thru a puddle there is no way for water to get up that pipe, lol then get all the way around that U bend in the injen pipe and into your engine. Unless you leave your filter exposed, water nore salt will touch it. I just went down into that compartment and its generally clean and thats with all the rain and snow this summer. The Car design is bulletproof. Unless your car is submerged in water risk of hydrolock is to low to be of concern.
I am not saying it doesnt happen. but every time i ask someone how the hydro lock happend "the real story, not the story they give to a dealer" its mostly because they were doing something stupid and assumed they would be ok lol. Last and not least for those out there at are super paranoid there is a water resistant sleve for the filter.

I have never met anyone who just had hydrolock happen out of nowhere. it just doesnt happen and its something very hard to do.

Now i make this argument not to advance one style of intake over another. a SRI has bonus's in performance that a CAI doesnt and vice versa. I personally run an extended SRI. Becuase i favor low end vs. mid to high end performance. What can i say, i just dont take my car down to the track enough
