my brainstorming plans for my lancer

hey guys this is my first post here on evolutionm.net. i am also a member of mitsubishi-forums.com.

so i have composed a small list of modifications i would like to put into my car and i figured i would come here to get some positive feedback and advice/tips on it as im not very educated in cars so i dont trust myself to make the final decision too much when it comes to parts.
what i am looking for is basically just a lancer that is a little more powerful than it is stock (2008 Lancer ES model and im in cali so its 143hp) and to look cooler than it does already. so this list will consist of performance as well as looks.
here is the list:

performance:
- Injen SES exhaust (reason i go with this one is it is legal in cali which is something i need. im not trying to put anything illegal into my car)
- Injen CAI w/ hydroshield
- WORKS throw short shifter OR TWM short shifter

suspension:
- WORKS SS-1 Suspension package (includes lowering springs with rear sway bar)
- i was also looking at the tein s-tech lowering springs as they lower the car more BUT i have read some negative feedback on these so which one would be a smarter purchase?

Interior:
- WORKS Grab shift knob

Exterior:
- BBS RS-GT (17") rims OR AME Tracer FS-01 rims... are they both good performing rims? i like the looks of the BBS more but the AME are just soooooo much cheaper and i still do like the looks. which ones would you guys do with?
- in relation to tires... which tires are the best performing? im looking for some that are used for regular street driving but are durable enough if i wanted to take the car to a track or start track driving (basically strong tires that last a long time). my friend has the Falken F452's and he says they are very good tires. what would you guys recommend?
- tint (somewhere around 35% not too much but not unnoticeable) w/e moleskin as i heard you need this on the new lancers for tint

sorry for the very long post but i figured id lay out my entire rough plan and get some feedback on it. thanks to anyone who responds

Supposedly a cold air intake will make u lose low end power but gain high end power vs a short ram intake which will increase responsiveness at low rpms. Think about that as well.

well I have a few of those pieces haha

Injen Intake and Hydroshield are awesome, same goes with the works suspension.

I would suggest getting the short throw if you want to do the knob anyways, tint levels depend on the color of your car, I 50% front, 35% side & rear. I have Kuhmo Ku13 tires and they seem pretty good so far.

my car is an ES

yeah i have the ES and its in the rally red color with the spoiler on the back (thought i was getting it without it but when i got to the dealer sure enough it was on already haha)
for the intake i thought you gain about 5hp? im pretty sure thats wut i saw advertised but i could be way off. can you tell me the advantages and disadvantages between the SRI and CAI and which one you think would be smarter to go with?

well seeing as there isn't a decent SRI designed yet (IMO anyways) you are kind of stuck between the Works/K&N drop in or the Injen/Fujita CAI.

The RRM SRI makes a lot of noise but the IAT's were too high to make it worth while IMO, the CAI is the best however it takes some more work to install and need to be careful about water, the Hydro shield helps a bit but you still need to be careful. The drop in is a nice maintenance free solution but obviously less gains.

As for the Dyno, I would assume a good number guess would be 5/5 (hp/tq) they have them as 10 and 11 on the website but that is the largest difference possible.

I like mine.

also keep in mind im not dieing to have super performance gains. the exhaust is more of a cool sounding feature for me (although advertised 10hp gain is a plus as well) and i like how the injen CAI sounds and it just helps my car breathe as well (and adds a tiny boost to hp).

For tint, I did 35% front 15% rear. Looks good, and the fronts are light enough that most "Peace Officers" just do a double take, but don't bother to pull me over.

For tires, I like Bridgestone Potenzas ... but that's just me.

Since you listed the performance mods first, put some consideration into the weight of the wheels you're looking at buying. I haven't looked at the wheels you've listed, but lighter wheels will help with performance and handling.

To the best of my knowledge, the Injen CIA is the only one that is CARB Certified.

yeah those rims are apparently very light (both the ones i listed) which is good.

and yeah if you are going to recommend any parts make sure they are cali legal. its not in my interest to get in trouble for anything on my car

as an alternative to that Injen exhaust, you can have a muffler shop build a street legal exhaust with high flow cat(s), piping sized to your tastes, and what ever muffler you want for about the same price...

the best shops have mandrel bending machines on site...

yeah i was considering that option but i dont know enough about it. could you tell me a little more about those shops and how they work? could they make an equal performance exhaust for cheaper? i mean really if you think about it why not just buy the injen ses if its gunna be around the same price its just easier in the long run
