K&N drop in filter for 2008 lancer 2.0L available online
Just to clarify, the actual filter is inside the airbox, but the airbox does not seal together like orifinally. Rather the airbox seals to each side of the "filter cage". If anything, this is acting like a TB spacer in a way. Allows the air another split second to cool before it hits the motor. Overall I am very satisfied thus far!!!
You know like some people get more excited from an exhaust sound and the do it yourself experience rather than its performance, if any.
Just a thought

haha I just ordered the SRI from RRM, and I kinda want the sound. I'm still young at 20, and I would get an axleback but it would probably obnoxious to everyone else. Still, I'd rather drive listening to the motor rather than my stereo.
I'll say that I really haven't noticed too much of a difference honestly. Just that fact that it's K&N and not some cheapo paper filter is enough for my piece of mind. It sucks that I want the SRI from K&N too because I just got my filter.
I looked at the "cheapo" stock air filter today and it is a Denso and it doesn't really look cheapo at all. It actually seems to be made of some kind of fiber, maybe even cotton, not paper as I thought.
But anyways, I ordered my K&N too, it's on its way.

Just dropped mine in. No noticeable difference in sound or power/torque.
I did notice a difference in mpg though. On my way to work which is a 9 mile hwy trip, slightly downhill, I have never averaged more than 35 mpg at the end of the trip (as I said, slightly downhill, a couple of miles in neutral, 65-70 mph).
Today with the K&N filter at the end of the trip I averaged 37.8 mpg
On my way back from work (slightly uphill), things were the same as before with the stock filter 25-26 mpg.
This is only based on the trip computer mpg after just one day. I filled up the tank today and I'll do the math in two weeks from today to see the real difference.

Great offer
AutoAnything has a new great offer for our KN air filter
$26.91 instead of $49 for the KN air filter.
I bought mine when it was $49
but I though I should let you guys know, in case you're looking for one, or haven't decided yet.
I'm not sure if this is temporary just for the 4th of July or a typo.
