water pump replacement

got an 02 es that just rolled over on about 53k miles.... got all the parts together for the timing belt, alternator belt, and power steering belt change and even a aluminum crank pulley while im in there. i also got a water pump. now i have had no problems with the car, just preventitive matinence is all. my question is on changing the water pumo will this require me to drain the coolant first or can i do it without? if so whats the easiest way to change out the coolant during the whole process??

Yes you will need to drain the coolant, or else it will go EVERYWHERE when you pull the water pump off. It's the easiest fluid on the car to drain. It should really be changed every year anyway-- chances are, it's due. If you have 52k miles don't rush. Contrary to popular belief timing belts don't just snap if you carelessly let it go past 60,000 miles. They usually go at about twice that number.
