piggy problem

piggy problem

since the install of my piggyback on my manual lancer my car has had a misfire and i have replaced both the plugs and the coils or wires, not those big things i think the coil pack, and i still have a cel. i have been putting in 89 octane and everything. could it be i need to tune it?

I just installed my piggyback last night, i noticed my idle is a little harsh so im kinda in the same boat you are

oh its been on there for awhileeeeeeeeeee and i don't know the code, i don't have one of those scanners. autozone just says its a missfire when they read it

maybe try resetting your car. take the negative side off the battery and hold the break for a few secs then let it chill for 5-10 mins and re connect

ok, thats good to hear, now i just have to find a shop to tune it beyond the stock settings.

do you guys know how to reset cel's? like my friend has a nissan and does what he calls the pedal dance where he does a series of pressing in the gas pedal. do we have that?

ok, so i just had to clear the random/multiple misfire (p0300) code for the second time in the last 3 days, car is running fine but my heart drops every time i see my service engine soon light comes on.

You guys with older cars need to check for vacuum leaks or install issue on the piggy. I know it sounds strange but installing piggy often exposes issues like leaks that have nothing to do wit the piggy. Replace all the little vacuum hoses on the manifold or check for leaks....... I SWEAR you will find some and it will seem like a piggy issue but it is not. Otherwise you installed piggy wrong somehow. Call us Monday when we open if you need more help.

i had similar problems and i pulled it off also but i thought cause i bought mine used off someone that maybe they hooked it up and changed the map settings or in shipping it lost its programming someway...

Mine is fine and i've had it for around a year installed, no problems. They're right when they say it idles rough for a while until the car re-learns, but other than that i'd say go with what Rock says.

is there a list anywhere that lists all the vaccume hoses sizes in the engine bay and the lengths?
