Oil Pan gasket torque

Hey, i'm about to put on a new gasket for my oil pan (old one is leaking), and I was wondering before I start, what is the torque specs? Either inch pounds or torque pounds, or both would work... also, my gasket came with 3 tubes of RTV, should I use them or no? If I can save a little can I use it for a water pump gasket sealant too or should I get something else? Thanks!

when i took off my oil pan the bolts were not that tight, you should know when its too tight...

and I cut out my own gasket because its hard to remove RTV because you cant reuse it. You would have to scrape it off and apply it again if you were to take off the oil pan.

The torque specs for the lower oil pan bolts are 97(+/- 9) in-lbs and the upper oil pan bolts are 79(+/- 26) in-lbs. I also would highly recommend using the RTV sealant. RTV does not leak as paper, rubber or cork gaskets eventually do and it not only forms a seal between the surfaces, but also around the bolts.

At work I use a 1/4" drive ratchet and snug it up with that. May not be the exact torque spec but you can't overtighten them with such a small drive size. That's the easiest way to do it.

Torqued the gasket down to 97 in lbs, i even double checked my mitsu repair manual, and the gasket ripped when I was tightening it down. It was only in one spot so I caked a whole lot of RTV on there and i'm gonna let it dry for about a day and put another coat on and then put in oil.
