oil pan sealant?

I'm ready to put my oil pan back on and am not sure if i can use "Permatex ultra grey gasket maker". The service manual says to use some 3M product but i can't find any around my town. I ran by the dealership and they wanted 40 bux for a little tube Mitsubishi sealant. Any one know what to use for the oil pan gasket?

YOu need a heavy duty silicone that dries up harder than normal. Use HondaBond or Ford Powerstroke sealant. Both of these are the only ones that truly form a high temp seal.

Toyota sells their sealant for $20-$30. they have have it labeled F.I.P.G. Black thick sealant. sets in minutes. I use it all the time I seal oilpans. Never had one came back for a leak.

you get plenty of it when you get it from mitsu, it isnt a small tube, you can seal the pan about 4 times with one tube if you dont get crazy with it. and 40 bucks for something that you already know wont leak isnt much
