Cool new plugs Lancer ES LS and OZ Rally

I bought denso iridium Plugs for my car and the difference was amazing. The thing that got my attention was the condition of the OEM plugs. My car has only 32000 miles and the plugs were scorched

Thumbs up denso iridium plugs

some part stores dont show to carry plugs for the lancer but here is the part number

5303#4

I had to do alot of research to get the part number that part stores show in their stock.
I replaced my plugs at 32k miles and the condition of the old plugs amazed me. attached are pics so you can see what the plugs look like at 32k miles.

Are those the plugs that are about $7 a piece? Did you get new wires? What kind of difference did you notice?

that dirty condition of the plugs prolly has something to do with the stock a/f ratio being so rich... did you notice any power gains or better idling with those iridiums (i.e. were they worthe 60 bucks?)

I have NGK iridium plugs and unless Denso has some secret ingredient in their plugs, there isn't a HUGE gain, if any at all from changing out plugs. The most you'll get is easier warmup time on cold starts, smoother acceleration, and a little better gas mileage.

why is this posted in the EVO forum??

Anywho, my stock plugs were in perfect condition after 5000 miles. They were light brown, and by looking at several charts that means everything is burning excellent. I went ahead and swapped in some HKS G45's though. They are heat level 8 and should be a little safeguard against knock at my 1.4 bar of boost. These plugs are TOP notch, made by NGK I believe.. they just have an HKS logo on them. They are Iridium and they are pregapped to .025, perfect for the EVOs. Best set of plugs money can buy and at $18 a piece they are $12 less than the stock IGR7AG plugs (heat range 7).

Word. Pretty much. If you get a power gain then your butt dyno is lying to you.
