You have the 4b12 with the 2.4 the 4b11 is a 2.0 only made in 2008 except for the EVO which is the 4b11-T

4b12 is a great platform truly, but I am really hoping to see some internals come out for it. I've walked 2 Xrs's a couple b18 hondas and I can't even tell you how many 85-00 riced out stock block accords and civics I've taken out here in Vegas. I really love the way the car looks and handles but I really wish I had more power to play with. Still that's a huge jump with only a CAI. I'd love to see what a CAI, Headers, Testpipe, Exhaust, and a ECU w/ Tune will do for these cars (not to mention the turbo possibility).

Dont hold it loo long, its hard on the clutch! but with that, i was able to drop my time from 15.678 to 15.322. It takes a lot of practice but see the time difference!
Hello.

To which RPM you do the changes?

Hello view.

I just took a look to the mail you sended me.

Ok First, according to the time you telled me, 17sec something, i need more info about it, because your performance look like you got a 4b11 engine (2.0L) or, maybe you have the CVT tranny with the S&S option, witch add ALOT of weight to the car! Or, dont take it personnal, but maybe your shifting technique is really bad or maybe you need more practice.

You also mentioned ''a level of 2240 msm'' What is this? Sorry im a frenchy so... I dont know what your are talking about!

And for your second question, asking @ witch RPM im shifting: Around 6000 RPM. No need to go higher. Just stay in your peak HP/Torque range.

I just got my new exhaust installed, i universal magnaflow With this i should be able to reach 14.9 i hope!

For those who ask if the INJEN CAI #SP1835 fit on our car, aswer is YES

If your asking how fast is it? My best time so far on the 1/4 mile at Napierville dragway is 15.322sec @ 91mph only with the CAI, with octane 91-94
getting back on topic, to answer your question. I have completed an interview with the Development boys at INJEN and the answer is yes it will fit, but will it work well is the true question. To let them answer this question in their own words. I will quote

EVOSOUL's INJEN interview
Question number #3

EVOSOUL: "Since the release of your COLD AIR INTAKE, Mitsubishi has now released a 2.4L engine variant. Do you believe the Intake sold for the 2.0L will suffice or would you consider making another intake for the 2.4L exclusively?"

INJEN Development: "We just finished performing a battery of tests on the new 2.4L engine. The 2.4L ECU’s fuel & ignition maps is totally different from the 2.0L's ECU. The intake system for the 2.0L will not work with the 2.4L due to the 2.4L engine requiring more air. Using our patented M.R. Technology and Air Fusion design process we were able to produce the desire HP/TQ gains and safe air/fuel ratio’s that the factory ECU would accept. The new cold air intake for the Lancer 2.4L GTS will be ready for release shortly."

Other questions about INJEN's intake and upcoming projects will show up here in the engine section shortly as well as on my www.evosoul.com blog.

Cheers

anyway, the 4b12 is really a respectable engine, and compared with a 4b11, dont even think about it, the 4b11 sucks in term of performance side to side. (im not sayint that the 4b11 is a crap, only on performance specs )
Use the lowest octane fuel you can without knocking. I doubt you need 91 and it's both a waste of money and potentially bad for the car. Use 89 if you feel like you need higher octane. Fuel has no effect on engine power or response (at least in the way you are describing), you are feeling a placebo effect.

Not that i dont believe injen as they are a trusted company they are too a business. I would have to see dyno sheets from a 3rd party comparing the two intakes on a 2.4L engine.

If the new design is > than the 2.0L design injen will definitely let it be known with a dyno or something else Im just sticking with the 2.0 intake.

lol i am pretty sure they are not out to trick anyone, to be honest I personally think they would be losing money wasting time R&D an intake that doesnt yield much more power. Their argument makes sense. the 2.4 requires a larger volume of air and if the pipes arent optimized to deliver that, that it will mean you are losing out on potential gains.

My third party testing has already proven that the lancer hits the 9hp peak mark. if i owned a 2.4 you can bet your *** I would want an intake optimized to make the same proportional gain.

of course but they are a business and they want to make money, like i said for the most part i believe what they say but I would want a 3rd party evaluation of it first so far the 2.0 CAI on my 2.4L works fine i dont have a dyno to prove anything but then again i only paid 250 for the intake so im satisfied for now.

this will be an interesting comparison/dyno to see once everything is released.

Bingo, companies like Injen, AEM and K&N make intakes for a wide variety of cars, I highly doubt the R&D is that expensive and they don't need to sell many to recoup the costs.
